THE RESET: AMBIENT FOLK FOR TANGLED TIMES

An indie-folk artist from New York sends out an acoustic offering from the heart of a global pandemic. This album was recorded in the East Village, NYC.

There is chaos in our networks, and this music encourages a return to a more natural hum of being. It can help you to find some grace under all the pressures of daily life.  *It’s actually so chill it’s best to not operate heavy machinery or drive while listening!

This album is unique.  You can throw on the album and let it play on through… or you can choose the area of your life where you seek more peace, and select the song that corresponds. Then you simply listen and breathe. It’s the easiest RESET there is.

DIANA on THE RESET…

” A RESET is something we all need right now.  I spent the pandemic lockdown in NYC, and this album helped me to stay grounded. This project is an artistic response to tangled times and the ways we try to move through them.

For the recording of each song I connected with Agnes Kowalski, (who not only is an amazing producer, but also a gifted therapist) and the musicians, and we would discuss and tune into the theme of each track. Then we would improvise with the main frameworks being the key the music was in, and the vowel sound.

Making music this way was an interesting process.  By moving away from short format songs and leaning into building long meditative arcs, it became about harnessing our musical skills in service of simplicity and intention.

This project is unique. You can throw on the album and just let it play on through as with any album… Or you can select the area of your life where you could use a little more peace and choose the song that corresponds and listen there.

Each song consecutively climbs a note up the scale, has a color associated with it, a vowel sound, and a theme.  I also created a visual collage, and created simple hashtags for if the listeners want to find their way into a certain vibe, and chill there.

When we find ourselves overwhelm and want to reset, sometimes what is simple can be just the thing to help. Here you just listen and breathe…”
